Sheriff Alfred Froyd of Cedar City arrived in our city Wednesday. S. D. Atkin was in Milford the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Hickman have moved to the Stoddard apartments. Tom McLaughlin of Newhouse was in town Monday. Mrs. M. Fotheringham of Beaver is visiting her relatives in Milford. E. A. Abney of Denver was in town Monday. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Hanks visited relatives in Parowan this week. Mrs. Robt. Corn and son Martin expect to leave Sunday for San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Cal. Mrs. C. C. Sloan and Babe Sloan went to Salt Lake City Sunday night for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Bird and Mr. and Mrs. Eb. Tanner left Wednesday! for a camping trip near Panguitch. C. D. Walker and C. N. Edwards of the Dixie Oil Co. were in Milford last Sunday. Mrs. Geo. Williams of Minersville went to Salt Lake City Monday night for a visit of a few days. J. E. Rambler of Nada, who is soon to prove up on his homestead, was in town Wednesday on business. Judge Joshua Greenwood was in Milford Wednesday, a guest of Hotel Atkin. C. H. Erickson and J. M. Hanson of Salt Lake City were transacting business in Milford this week. Prof. J. H. Weber of Salt Lake City is here on mining business again. Harold S. Barnes, Judge Greenwood's Green-wood's private secretary, was with him on his recent visit to Milford. Miss Hazel Mallstrom of Midvale arrived Tuesday for a visit with her sister Mrs. M. H. Wheat. Mrs. Wm. Martin entertained the Y. L. M. I. A. girls at her home last Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Muldoon of Mo-dena Mo-dena were the guests of their sister Miss M. Catherine Smithson the past week. Rev. E. E. Mork will speak at the M. E. church next Sunday, both morning and evening. A large attendance at-tendance is desired. Dr. C. W. Swanson is in Salt Lake City looking into the duties to be required when he is called "to the front.". Mrs. H. H. Pitchforth desires thai any one in her Red Cross unit who has finished work to enter it with Mrs. JH. M. Gourley. It has been figured out at headquarters head-quarters that about 615 should be registered in Beaver county on September Sep-tember 5, under the new regulations. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sherwood ant-children ant-children spent Sunday picknicking at the reservoir. They caught about eighty-five fish. Warren Neilson and James Low, who have been visiting at their homes in Beaver, returned Wednesday Wednes-day night to camp. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Barton visited in Beaver Sunday and Monday. Mattie Bohn and Jessie Fields accompanied ac-companied them home for a week's visit. Chas. Roper had the misfortune recently to be kicked by a horse and as a consequence has a badly dislocated dislo-cated knee. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Evans and two children of Vernal have been visiting visit-ing relatives here the past two weeks. Mrs. Evans is a sister of Will Elmer and Mrs. Art Lewis. !-artment. Hhis ,ashyo. The Beehive Girls of the Y. L. M. I. A. of the L. D. S. church, made up mostly of girls of thirteen and over, have been working industriously for Red Cross this summer and yesterday yester-day turned over 14 sweaters and 7 pairs of sox for shipment. They have finished a few pieces since which will go in the next shipment. It is splendid splen-did to see these girls taking an interest inter-est in this work. |
