A special traiiij passed through Milford Mil-ford Thursday morning en route to Los Angeles. This train was handled hand-led by engine 366 8, Engineer Rood and Fireman Johnson,- Conductor Manning, Brakemen Widman and Robinson. Commencing October 1st, a new arrangement of hours will be put in force in the telegraph department. First trick operator will hereafter work 9 hours. Second and third trick operators will work 8 hours, they being paid for the extra service. The intent of this change is to give the first trick operator more time to devote to his clerical duties as manager man-ager of the Western Union service and assist Agent Lichty with his correspondence. cor-respondence. A very interesting letter was received re-ceived from H. O. Yeager, day yard master of Milford, who is on leave of absence visiting his folks at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mr. Yeager reports having a splendid time, and that he has been -chicken and duck hunting. Also advises that he was short on dogs and that if he had- a 42 center meter gun he could get all the birds. It might be well to advise Bill that a few dogs might be shipped to him from Milford, which, would help both him and Milford. |
