The following pathetic little poem was given the News for publication with "all rights reserved," which includes the right to lick the perpetrator: perpe-trator: It was on Wednesday morning, The house was near completed, The bull dogs were in mourning Because they had been cheated. The lady dog says, "What a hog, I haven't e'en a blouse; It's getting nearly winter, I wish we had a house." Then Teddy said, "Now listen. No matter how it looks, I'm going to bite a leg off From our owner, Mr. Brooks." Then Mr. Brooks got busy, For he could stand no more; They built the dogs a little house, But forgot to make the door.
