Show WEIGHING THE MAILS, BE PATIENT THE Postoffice Department has ordered ord-ered the weighing of all mail carried car-ried on rural routes. The work is to commence Saturday this week. The supposition is that the work is to be done to ascertain the equitable basis for letting mail route contracts. It is a tedious job as each classification must be weighed separately and a complete record kept for fifteen days of each of the four classes for each rural route. The central accounting office for each district must weigh for each of the routes going out of the central office. This will also call for some patience on the part of the public as no additional help is allowed for the additional work. o i |
