Show FOOD COMMISSION SAYS WE MUST The stores here have received word from the Food Commission that they must observe the wheat-less, wheat-less, meatless and porkless days, and live up- to the requirements of that body. From now on no beef or pork will be sold on Tuesdays, but one can buy mutton. On Wednesdays, no white flour will be sold, and on other days customers will be required to buy an equal quantity of white flour substitutes with their order of flour. These may Include various things such as rice, tapioca, corn meal, graham, beans, oat meal, etc.; or two hundred pounds of potatoes with a fifty pound sack of flour. Only ten pounds of sugar can be sold to those in town, or twenty-five pounds to those who live at a distance. |
