Show Girls Win Places In Amateur Work At Local Theatre Beverly Heslington, four year-old year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Heslington, was the first place winner in the Tuesday night semi-; semi-; finals of the amateur talent con- est conducted by the local Fir-i Fir-i mage theatre. Betty Denny and ; Fonda Morrell were the joint win-I win-I ners of first place Wednesday ' night and these two girls and the Tuesday night winner will compete com-pete January 5 for final awards. Winner of first place at that time will be awarded the privilege of 1 appearing on amateur night at the j Roxy theatre in Salt Lake while second place winner will appear I on a program at radio station ; KSUB in Cedar City. Transporta-I Transporta-I tion expenses in both cases will be paid by the Firmage theatre. Little Miss Heslington won first 1 place Tuesday with a reading and in competition with Richard and Jim Hickman, winners of second place with a trombone novelty number; lone Sedgewick, third place, with a reading; and Betty Jean Davidson and Ruth Gress-men, Gress-men, with a tap dancing act. The Denny and Morrell girls, with a novelty act, won out ovei Betty Jane Firmage, with a reading, read-ing, winner of second place; Phillip Phil-lip Carlisle, third place, with a tuba solo; Shirley Post, dancing; and Barbara Gressmen, tap dancing. |
