Show Loss Is Shown By New Census Count The deep inroads into Milford's population which removal of the Union Pacific shops made right after the 1930 federal census was taken, may be judged by the fact that the 1940 figures still show Milford with, a loss of 133 persons, compared with 1930. This despite de-spite the fact that now, and at most times within the last three or four years it is and has been almost al-most impossible for a newcomer in the community to get housekeeping house-keeping quarters. The 1940 cetisus returns for Beaver county, released this week by Christy Anderson of Richfield, ' district supervisor, show that the j county, with a population of 4984, J has decreased 152 since the 1930 count. Beaver City went from I 1673 in 1930 to 1804 in 1940; Minersville went from 537 to 570; while Milford, with a population for 1940 of 1384, shows the decrease de-crease of 133. Adamsville and Greenville also show decreases but the figures are not given. The number of farms in the county, as shown by a preliminary prelimi-nary count of the returns of the 1940 census of agriculture, inventory in-ventory as of April 1, 1940, is 320, as compared with 447 in 1935 and 395 in 1930. |
