Show 'Milford's First Spring Race Meet Is Expected To Draw Thousands With race track railing, grandstand grand-stand and other buildings newly painted, the standard half-mile track in excellent condition and race horses arriving every day from every direction of the compass, com-pass, Milford's first biennial spring race meet, set fof June 21-22-23, looms bigger and bigger every ev-ery day. There are no conflicting events scheduled for that weekend week-end in Utah or Nevada and horse ' owners and trainers and the gen-: gen-: eral public are looking to the Milford Mil-ford meet as a natural, dated just right to precede several 4th of July meets. The 60 race horse stables constructed last year have proved wholly inadequate for this year's reservations and show pens along the south boundary fence of ; the fair grounds are being fitted ! to provide additional stables and still the requests for accomoda- j tions pour in! j Hundreds of out-of -county peo-pie, peo-pie, many of them from Nevada , and California besides all parts . of Utah, came to Milford last fall , for the first county fair and race meet to be held in the western i part of Beaver county. Everyone , had a good time and their mon- j ey's worth in well-matched horse ! races and night show entertain-men, entertain-men, despite the stormy weather, and a big majority promised to be back for this spring's race meet ' the moment it was mentioned, and there is ample evidence that they ' iire going to do just that and al-j al-j so bring hundreds of their friends. I Upwards of 3000 out-of-town peo-! peo-! pie are expected to be here for Sunday, the final day, and Friday and Saturday both promise to be big days. Advertising material for the night show programs, to be given daily, has been distributed this week and the various acts, musical musi-cal and otherwise, promise to be even superior and more entertain- i ing than last year, including some j of the best talent to be had in : Hollywood and all southern Cali- j fornia. 1 1 Hollywood glamour girls, high , class vaudeville acts, crazy corned- ians and an ace master of cere- j monies, all selected for their ability to please, will be on hand, with a different program each evening and extemporaneous entertainment en-tertainment between races each afternoon. Friday, the opening clay of the meet, will be featured by a parade, pa-rade, with six southern Utah bands scheduled to take part and engage in maneuvers. i |
