Show 1VL AnotherShipment Of Catfish Planted Another shipment of Utah lake catfish, most of them mature fish which will spawn in about five oi six weeks time, were planted in Rocky Ford reservoir Wednesday nocn as further evidence of the good faith of Newell B. Cook, state commissioner of the fish and game department, who promised Milfora sportsmen all the catfish they wanted. The promise- was given March 23, co-incident with his visit to Beaver county to attend a meeting meet-ing of the Beaver County Fish ann .Game club and the first shipmeiu of 2500 fish arrived on Sunday, April 9. Wednesday's shipment was said to amount to approximately approxi-mately 1000, or three large tubs full, before they were placed in the tank. Representatives cf the department depart-ment who observed conditions at the reservoir stated that the newly planted fish should be able to spawn in the partially submerged brush along the shorelines under almost perfect conditions, and, un-, un-, less the water level recedes too fast, enough of the spawn will materialize ma-terialize into young fish to give a nice start of this ugly but delicious fish, together with some splendid early-season sport for Beaver county fishermen. The shipment was made in one of the regular tank trucks operated operat-ed by the department and equipped with an auxiliary engine which aerates the water contained in the tank, permitting shipment for long distances of the most sensitive game fish. Accompanying the shipment ship-ment from Springville were Upton Cherrington of the regular planting plant-ing staff and Henry Weight, war-den-at-large with the enforcement division; also Murray Bohn, Beaver Bea-ver county warden and superintendent superin-tendent cf the Beaver hatchery. Meeting the truck at Adamsville, as representatives of Beaver county coun-ty sportsmen were Earl Thompson and Grant Pryor of Minersville and V. Waddoups and David S. Williams of Milfoni. M |
