Show Cedar Elks Tested As Blood Donors Beginning this week health district dis-trict No. 2 laboratory at Cedar City will run tests on the members of the local Elks club to determine the blood group that they belong to for purpose of Iblood transfusions. transfu-sions. This program to establish a group of suitable Iblood donors is sponsored by the B. P. O. E. of Cedar City. Quite frequently a blood transfusion trans-fusion stands between the life and death of an individual and at such times it is highly important that suitable blood can be. obtained for transfusion at the earliest possible moment. The public-spirited members of the Elks club are to be highly commended com-mended for their activities and interest in-terest in such a worthwhile and life-saving program. With a large number of people classified as to their blood jjroup, a person in need of a transfusion can select one of his friends or relatives as the donor. Dr. A. A. Jenkins states that a similar laboratory service will be made available to any other community com-munity or organization interested in obtaining a known group of donors for blood transfusions. M |
