Show (From preceding issue) A book drive for the county library to be opened by July 1, had been started. The corhmittee was Mrs. A. C. Nefbeker, Mrs. Harvy Hedges, Mrs. Karl Carlton, Mrs. H. Korns, LeRoy Luken and A. C. Terry. Mrs. George Atkin and Mrs. D. P. Van Fleet were the first donors. Mrs. Atkin gave a five-foot five-foot shelf of Harvard classics and Mrs. VanFleet a large and beautiful beauti-ful oak library table. a The Beaver County Fish and Game club were getting an early start. Cement tanks were being built at Beaver in which small fry were put and kept until mid-summer, 210 big cat fish had been planted in the Minersville reservoir, reser-voir, a shipment of 55,000 rain-ibow rain-ibow and native trout were to 'be planted in the streams and lakes in the upper mountains, 55 Chineese pheasant eggs had been received and set under hens by Beaver sportsmen, several coveys of quail were being hatched and cared for and an effort was being made to have a fish hatchery established near the mouth of Beaver river canyon. Mrs. J. R, Murdock had been hostess to the Spoon cub. Those present were Mrs. ;C. C. Sloan, Mrs. .P. J. Evans, Mrs. W. H. Elmer, Mrs. J. B. Theissen, Mrs. H. A. Moore, Mrs. G. H. Harris, Mrs. C. J. Mclntire, Mrs. J. M. Will iams, Mrs. Scott Tanner, Mrs. Hullett, Mrs. George Fernley, Mrs. C. T. Woodbury. Mrs. C. G. Haskell had entertained enter-tained for her sister-in-law, Miss Haskell of Berkeley, California. Those present were Mesdames P. J. Evans, O. J. David, W. H. Elmer, J. M. Williams, C. .C. Sloan, J. Blumberg, R. E. Parsons, J. Johnson, John-son, A. P. McKeon, C. J. Mclntire, William Cochrane, William Sterling, Sterl-ing, and Miss Haskell. A large crew of men had been put to work at the Cedar Talisman mine in the Star district. A progressive play ground club had been formed for the purpose of raising funds for the childrens play ground. Each woman present was to be charged 25 cents. A surprise party had been given for Leonard Muir. Those present were Margaret Brooks, Areeta Atkins, At-kins, Ruth Elmer, Helen W'ard, Lucille Stephenson, Mary Vincent, Arvilla Muir, Alice FVizzell, Lon Mclntire, Thorald White, Rulon Bird, Harold Schuller, Elwood Jefferson, Jef-ferson, Harold Carlson, Warren Fernley, Buddie Stephenson, Toiby Cartwright, Charles Glenn and Walter Muir. Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Smithson had announced the marriage of their daughter Geraldine to C. William Wil-liam Mathews of Seattle, Washington. Washing-ton. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Ingles Young Mackintosh, at Seattle. A man from the secretary of state's office had been in Milford taking note of the care and trucks running without numbers on them. Mrs. Joe Kinney had given a house party at her home. Cards and music were enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kirk, Mr. and Mrs. Carter, Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Hickman Hick-man and Mr. and Mrs. George Fernley Vic Johnson and Ted Kronholm had been putting in a new well on the Vic Carlson homestead. |
