L. Griffiths. The graduates were Marcia Levi, Merle Pitchforth, Letha Schow, Alta Griffiths, Mercy Orwin and Harold Carlson. Others attending wpre the faculty, Miss Minnie Hughes, Miss Pepper, Mr. Izatt, Mr. Terry, Mrs. Kothuringham and Mr. Allred, and Mrs. Vic Carbon, Mr and Mrs. 11. H. Pitchforth, Mr. and Mrs. Xcls Schow, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Griffiths, Mrs. Mattie Armstrong, Mr.-:. Spencer Schow, Mrs Abe Fotheringham, Miss Ruth Sterling. Miss Inez Williamson of Para-L'-oonah, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Grimshaw, Sam Hickman, Miss Hel-n Ruth Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Hcber Ashworth of Beaver, Elea-m- r.v!ffith. Clvde Orwin, Walter Griffiths, and Mr. and Mrs. John Grimshaw of Beaver. At the commencement exercises given for the Senior graduates Miss Letha Schow had been valedictorian vale-dictorian and Miss Merle Pitch-forth Pitch-forth had given the salutatory address. ad-dress. Miss Helen Ruth Ward had been given a surprise by her schoolmates school-mates in honor of her birthday. Those present were Arvilla Mirir. Margaret Brooks, Aretta Atkins, Ruth Elmer, Alice Ward, Lillian Stoker, Alice Frizzell, Thorold White, Harold Schuller, Harold Carlson, Leonard Muir, Buddie Stephenson, Elwood Jefferson and Howard and Charles Glenn. Students of the Milford school who had received eighth grade diplomas di-plomas were Henry Reisner, Ora Edwards, Warren Fernley, Mary Vincent, Lillian Stoker, Henry Immish, Garnetta Clements, Jack Turley, Gladys Coleman, Thorold White, Frank Carter, Clark Lee, Jack Hillary, Bert Blanpied, Clyde Blanpied, Lucille Stephenson, La Rue Davis, Helen Rubh Ward, El-va El-va McEwen, Margaret Easton, Howard Tanner, Delos Tanner, Arvilla Ar-villa Muir and Allen Tanner. The United: States Forest reserve re-serve had appropriated $10,000 for the Puffer lake road, according to J. L. Griffiths, road supervisor. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jefferson had delightfully entertained in honor of their ninth wedding anniversary. anniver-sary. Miss Letha Schow had acted as town clerk during her absence. Virginia Nichols had entertain-j entertain-j cd a few girl friends at a birthday I party. Those present were Mattie Bohnm, Margaret Williams, Ar-(ieila Ar-(ieila Sterling, Eva Coleman, Leah Smith, Delia Kirk, Fern Hickman, Alice Ward, Thelma Rogers, Vel-ma Vel-ma Edwards, Dorothy Turley, Lu-Gene Lu-Gene Jennings and Verna Bird. Bishop E. Bird had returned from the L. D. S. hospital in Salt Lake where he had been for over two months, recovering from a serious operation. At a meeting of the board of education it had been decided by unaminous vote that a high school should be conducted in Beaver hereafter. Kent Smith had purchased the Ez Barton home. Looked as if Kent was planning something. i Fred Cottrell, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Cottrell, who had been ; attending Westminster college, was one of the principal actors in j a Shakesperian comedy, "As You i Like It", which was to be present-j present-j ed by that college. |
