Show Klostcr of Ephrata The Kloster, Ephrata, Pa., is a monastic group built by the Seventh Day Baptists beginning in 1744. These structures erected by immigrants immi-grants from Germany have a distinct dis-tinct medieval German character in design and construction. The brothers broth-ers and nuns lived in separate buildings build-ings called "Saron" and "Bethania," the latter now demolished. The meeting house in which their services serv-ices were conducted was called the "Saal." Many of the buildings of the group remain. |
