Show Soldiers' Pension System The soldiers' pension system is a development of comparatively recent re-cent times, although the personal pension an award made on a special spe-cial basis was known even in the time of the Roman empire and was chiefly in the form of grants for military service. The number of such pensions was so large that Sully Sul-ly in the Sixteenth century included their reduction as a part of his plan for economy. The Plymouth Pilgrims Pil-grims had a regulation in 1636 providing pro-viding for a pension for maimed soldiers. |
