Show M Through aJVoman's Eyes "Clothes Make the Man" or is it the man who makes the clothes ? Let's revert to this time-worn epitaph and heckle a bit for the sake of conversation or just by way of finding out what this year's crop of male-men are wearing. wear-ing. When the current throb calls 'round about eight, in a taxi, honey, you will note the regal black and white of his "soup and fish" has changed its complexion. That's right, formal male wear is midnight mid-night blue with white, these P.M.'s. Inveigling, eh? There are some noteworthy "about-faces" in Sir Galahad's day-time attire, tco. Perhaps most obvious of these is the unobviousness unobvious-ness of masculine raiment. I mean to say "Mister About Town" is acquiring an aesthetic sense of color combinations. He shrinks from those horror-mares of a season sea-son or two ago, when, in his glory of unfettered color consciousness, he threw together such shudder-provoking shudder-provoking schemes as purple and red-orange with a dash of green. Now we find him mixing teal expertly ex-pertly with navy or white in the business suit and an intriguing yellow or forest-green and gTey for spcrts wear, etc. The tie, striking of design, subtle of color, still matches the sox, as before. The dressier oxford, for all-occasion wear, runs to hues of luggage tones or oxbloods. These, by way of observation, I find are the fundamental differences differ-ences of your male-interest's garments, gar-ments, to date, frcm those he wore, blissfully and unashamedly, a year or so back. Of Note: "Education Row" was recipient of another rare treat Thursday of the past week, when the Brigham Young college brought its band, about 70 strong, into our gym for a concert. A program of stirring and renowned selections was rendered. ren-dered. Their drummer had an efficiency cf technique not to be smiled at. Professor Sauer is the band director. He was the composer com-poser of our beloved melody, "Spring-time In the Rockies". Well worth commending, too, was the fine representation of band mothers present in contrast to a scarcity of students. Sincerely, "YOUR OBSERVER" |
