Show CLUB HEM.BERS ! DISCUSSMATTERSj The regular luncheon meeting of the Milford Lions club was held yesterday yes-terday noon with several matters of importance occupying the attention of the members present. Retiring President R. E. Ellingsworth presided presid-ed in the absence of the new president, presi-dent, Harold Cline. Present were Lions Ellingsworth, Koch, Pool, P. J. Williams, Parrish, Jefferson, D. S. Williams and O. K. Hubbell. Lion L. R. Founder of Richfield ami his .-on Rene were present as guests. Lion George Jefferson told of plans being made for the goodwill tour to Ely, Nevada, in which member clubs of the Associated Civics club of southern sou-thern I'tah will participate and of his anxiety that the project be put over in a creditable manner with a good crowd in attendance. Lion Dr. Charles R. Parri-h suggested sug-gested the desirability of a planned outline of projects for the club to work on, mentioning the good effect a proper use of traffic tip cards in behalf of the railroad would be likely to bring about. He and Lion D. S. Williams were named as a committee to develop the idea. Guest Lion Founder extended an invitation to make use of the wonderful wonder-ful grounds at the upper Telluride plant in Beaver canyon for the hold-' hold-' ing of a tri-city Lions reunion, in which the Milford, Beaver and Rich-j j field clubs would participate and the, matter will be acted upon later. i Following up some preliminary overtures which have been made to-: ward having the Pasadena junior col-' lege Bulldog band give a concert in J ! Milford the evening of Thursday,! i 'uly 6, for which canvassing o1' I I homes in which band members will be cared for is now being undertaken ' by ladies of the L. D. S. Relief society, j j the matter, after some discussion.; ' was left in the hands of the club of- j ficers. I |
