Show MRS. ANNIE ATKIN RELINQUISHES HOTEL AFTER LONG SERVICE After twenty-eight years of residence resi-dence in Milford, Mrs. Annie J. At-kin At-kin has relinquished the Atkins Hotel Ho-tel and departed Friday evening for Los Angeles, Calif., where she will make her home with her son, S. S. Atkin, an attorney of that city. Owing to continued ill health Mrs. Atkin was forced to give up her hotel ho-tel business which she has conducted so many years in this city. A satisfactory satis-factory settlement was made with the Western Loan and Building Association, As-sociation, of Salt Lake City, who took over the property. The company expects ex-pects to continue the business here. T. N. Brunker, member of the organization organ-ization who was here to close the deal, has been looking after the comforts of the guests. Mr. Brunker states that they shall endeavor to maintain the high standing and popularity pop-ularity that the Atkin Hotel has enjoyed en-joyed during the many years it has been operated by Mrs. Atkin. It is with the deepest regret that the people of Milford see Mrs. Atkin At-kin leave. She has not only conducted con-ducted one of the most popular hotels of southern Utah many years, but has been active in civic and social affairs af-fairs of the town and community, and will be greatly missed. Her untiring efforts along the lines of civic improvement im-provement and charity work, together togeth-er with her personal supervision of the hostelry was too much for her strength. While she disliked to leave Milford where her friends were legion le-gion ,she realized that her health would not permit such strenuous work in the future. Her many friends hope that she may regain her health through rest and climatic change and the best wishes of the entire community goes with her. Mr. and Mrs. Halverson and two small children arrived yesterday from Salt Lake City, to take over the management of the hotel. Mr. Halverson Hal-verson is an experienced hotel man having formerly been connected with the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake. Milford Mil-ford extends a welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Halverson. |
