Show CUTTING OF TIMBER IN NATIONAL FORESTS IS NOW RESTRICTED Due to an ever increasing removal from the forests of green or partly green timber for fuel and other purposes, pur-poses, under the free use regulation, it has been found necessary to definitely defin-itely refer wood cutters to the regulation regu-lation governing free use of timber on the forests. Free use of dead material is allowed al-lowed settlers for their own consumption, con-sumption, and under no circumstances circumstan-ces is it to be sold or traded. Free use of materials to be employed em-ployed in any business, as by sawmill operators, merchants or schools ,etc. will be refused. It has been decided that for this region at least, any tree bearing green limbs, is a "green tree." Therefore There-fore ,anyone desiring such material for fuel or other purposes must take out a sale permit, and pay for that portion of the timber that is green. Also this class of material must be market by a forest officer before being be-ing cut. A permit must also be secured se-cured before any such timber is cut. Anyone selling free use, or sales at cost material may be required to pay for it at several times the usual rate. Where it is deemed advisable, cutting cutt-ing operations may be restricted to designated areas, and timber needed for administrative purposes may be withheld from1 cutting. c. h.
