Show MANY MILLIONS IN DOUBT AS TO JUSTIFICATION The Sun takes this very interesting quotation from an extended editorial appearing the other day in Chicago's Tribune, the most powerful and widely wide-ly circulated republican newspaper in all these United States. "National prohibition, pro-hibition, an experiment in total abstinence abstin-ence imposed by act of state, is so far from having the unanimous "support of the moral forces of the nation that millions of good citizens deny its justfication in either principle or expediency, expe-diency, and the professional prohibitionists prohibi-tionists are so aware of this opposition opposi-tion that in many states they resis' any reference of the issue to popular vote. The theory of moral unanimity is supported only on the assumptior that anyone .who dissents from prohibition pro-hibition is. not moral.. But no honest mind will take such a process of reasoning rea-soning as worthy of respect. Organized Organiz-ed prohibition is. afraid of free discussion dis-cussion and tries to bully, all others into silence. It represents not only a political experiment in enforced abstinence, ab-stinence, but even more fundamentally fundamental-ly an attack upon tolerance, free conscience con-science and free utterance."
