Show Invisible Ink Lemon juice is a wonderful Int though you may have never thought of jt as a writing' fluid. It is wonder ful because after you have written with it the sheet of paper is perfectly blank and the writing is invisible Here is the method : Merely squeeze some juice from a lemon and then dip into it with a perfectly clean pen. Then write as you would with ordinary or-dinary ink. But if the writing is invisible the juice is worthless, you say? It would be but for this fact: When you heat the paper over a candle or over a hot stove, being careful not to burn it, the writing will slowly appear in a deep brown color. Now you have the materials mate-rials for a game that may mystify your friends. Tvy this: Write .some messages, such as fprtunes, on small pieces of paper about three inches square, using us-ing your lemon juice for ink. Do not tell your friends about it. Now have your friends write their names and date of birth with pencil on one of the pieces, which you give to each of them, telling them they will have their fortunes told. They see there Is nothing else on the paper. As you hold each sheet over a candle flame they will be very much surprised at the appearance of the message. To add to the mystery you might place these papers into a hot oven instead of using the candle flame as a source of heat. |
