Show HOLLIS IS GIVEN DECISION OVER BROWN ON FOUL Johnny Brown of Cheyenne, lost to 'Kennie' Hollis of Milford, in the fifth round of their bout Tuesday night, when Referee Hanchett, of Richfield, judged Hollis had been fouled and raised Kennie's hand as winner. The blow, which was a little low, occasioned some doubt in the minds of the spectators, who were about equally divided in opinion. Whether too low or not, Hollis was clearly put away, and it was several minutes before he was able to leave the ring. The end came near the close of five rounds of furious mixing. Both men knowing that each was out of condition condi-tion for ring work, confined the greater share of their attacks to the body, crouched low, and because of this, the foul was occasioned. In the preliminary jousts, 'Kid' Alverson of MSnersville, and Louie Davis, of Milford, fought 3 rounds to a draw. Bill Pryor of Minersville and 'Brose' Hollis, of Milford, gave a clever 3-round exhibition, with the referee judging it a draw. A 'kid' battle royal with over-sized gloves, kept the crowd in an uproar just before be-fore the main go. The crowd was only a fair sized one due to bad weather and other entertainments en-tertainments in town. The Union Pacific band and the Milford Orchestra Orches-tra entertained the crowd with music between the fights. The show was backed by the Milford Mil-ford American Legion post, which is j planning several other athletic shows for the summer. |
