Show News of Southern Utah TO ERECT MONUMENT AT MOUNTAIN MEADOW The Utah Trails and Landmarks Association with the aid of citizens of Southern Utah, is planning: to erect a monument at the scene of th? Mountain Meadow Massacre at Mountains in Washington County. It is the plan of the association to erect a rock wall about the graves of those who lost their lives in the massacre mas-sacre and to place a tablet bearing an inscription ffivini? details of it at the entrance. The wording of the inscription in-scription has not been definitely decided de-cided upon but will be in the near future. The tentative inscription gives the date, mentions names prominently pro-minently connected with the massacre mas-sacre and describes briefly the conditions con-ditions that lead to it, what happened, happen-ed, and the justice method to the leaders. The tentative date for the placing of the tablet is August 22. Iron County Record. I for damages alleged to have sustained sustain-ed on the night of March 11, last, in a road accident. According to the complaint on file, the accident was caused by negli-; negli-; gence on the part of the contractors in leaving an excavation in the road which they were building seven miles east of Elgin in Grand county. It is alleged there was no light or barricade barri-cade to warn motorists of the excavation, excava-tion, and as a result I'atterson drove ', his car into the depression, causing; the wreck. In the first cause of ac-1 tion ,the sum of $457.50 is asked by ' .the plaintiff for damages to his car and losses sustained as a result of the accident. In the second cause of action, the sum of $5175 is asked for injuries and damage.-; sustained by Miss Margith Maughan, a passenger in the car, whose claim is assigned to the plaintiff.
