Show Nine Hundred Bucks Killed on Dixie Preserve This season all hunters entering the Dixie State Game Preserve to hunt were cheeked in and out. Slightly over 2,000 checked in and 904 bucks were brought out via the checking stations,' to-wit: Enterprise 174, Woolseys 54, New Harmony 70, Newcastle 204, Black Gulch 305, Anderson's An-derson's Ranch 26, Leeds 21, Gun-lock Gun-lock 50. The hunters generally showed themselves to be real sportsmen, sports-men, by respecting the game laws and private property. Unfortunately one hunter was killed, a hereford cow was mistaken for a buck and came down in one shot, a lone cow elk was killed, and it is said that one novice proudly exhibited a goat as a spike buck. |
