Show BYRD MEN RELIVE FEATS IN THRILL FILM-RECORD Although their nearest neighbors were more than 2,300 miles away, the forty-two members of Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd's South Polar expedition expe-dition were in constant communication communica-tion with the outside world by radio. Now each of the members can relive his adventure, called "one of the most stupendous and daring feats of modern mod-ern times," all over again in the thrilling thril-ling filmt-record of the expedition, "With Byrd at the Suth Pole," the picture booked for showing at the Victory theatre, starting November 17 for two days. The film not only shows the living conditions of the men, the great scenic wonders of the Antartic, but it is a continuous feature drama with suspense, sus-pense, adventure, danger, daring, romance ro-mance and thrills. The humorous, human-interest incidents of the daring dar-ing exploit are recorded in full detail. The breath-taking plane flight over the Pole, made by Admiral Byrd and three companions, is a living experience experi-ence in pictures. During this flight, the plane, heavily laden, found difficulty diffi-culty in scaling the 10,000-foot polar plateau, and the admiral and his men had to work to lighten the plane to avoid crashing into the mountains. |
