Show FRISCO IS GOLD BEARING VORTEX OF HUGE MINERALIZED AREA Increasing interest in the dovelop-Jmeut dovelop-Jmeut of gold ore in properties in the j Frisco area in Beaver county and extending ex-tending on northeast to the Marys-vale Marys-vale area in Piute county is attracting attract-ing attention so far reaching in the mining industry and with the investor invest-or that it may be considered of na-1 na-1 tional importance. In this vast mineralized area from which millions of dollars in hidden treasure have been removed wiih gold extraction of very high importance, import-ance, mining is beginning to pick up. Operations are speeding along and reaching out to the proportions of days when camps of the area were the. biggest in the state of Utah, at least among the most important. The famous old Horn Silver mine at Frisco, being operated by the Tin- tic Lead Mining company, which has added to the adjoiuing area, until it owns a total of 10,000 acres, is considered con-sidered by some geologists to be the vortex of the huge mineralization. Tintic Lead reported that shipments ship-ments of eight cai'oads of ore had been "made during th-i week from its Horn Silver prope'-ty. Of this shipment ship-ment four carloads werj of gold ore. The other carloads were of lead zinc ore. They measured up to values representing re-presenting high prof.t. Indicate Huge Production Developments as they have been speeding along the Horn Silver and adjoining acreage, operated by Tintic Lead, indicate huge production as the program of progress is being out lined, with exceptionally fine ore being be-ing encountered constantly in the operations. The Lulu mine, also in the Frisco district, near the Horn Silver property, proper-ty, where the American Smelting & Refining company is driving two headings, also is looking for gold ore. Momentarily, almost, engineers of the smelting company are expecting expect-ing a gold mineralized destination in the Lulu. Robert Clark , engineer for the American Smelting & Refining company, com-pany, during an inspection of the Lu Hi mine, a few days ago, stepped over to the Frisco Silver-Lead mine, which adjoins the Tintic Lead properly. pro-perly. He reports having found that the main fissure, which dips easterly, shows a decided improvement and warranting bigger operations. He recommended this course to the owners own-ers some time ago. At the other end of this gold mineralized min-eralized area the Annie Laurie mine, near Marysvale, is reported to be in very rich gold ore. President B. F. Bauer, of the Annie Laurie Consolidated Consoli-dated Mining company, received a message a few days ago from Fred Tilton, mine superintendent, that Curnow Brothers, who are leasing one of the upper levels had brought out gold ore running ?500 a ton. Gold Mineralization Some reports have been coining in that the Fortuna mine, not far from Annie Laurie, and between that mine and Horn Silver, has been subjected to examination. It is also in the gold mineralized. G. K. Link, manager of the Horn Silver workings of the Tintic Lead Mining company, reported during the week to Tintic Lead officials in Salt Lake of the encouraging progress which is being made in getting out gold ore during the week which has resulted in the shipment of four cars of gold ore. "On the 500 level," says his report, re-port, "We are getting lined up and should be mining gold ore there next week in one place and several others will be started soon. "On the 300 level, north, Johnson's John-son's men have in addition to the southwest break they opened up, found some fine carbonate lead ore in the bottom of the level. This is virgin ground and should mean lots to us in real good ore. I will have something to tell you about Wednesday. Wednes-day. "Freeman and his crew are mining min-ing up on their gold-silver ore and are going to try to make two cars a wei-k. The samples have been running run-ning belter than J10 in gold and about 20 ounces of silver. "Wo have two places mining on the 2n0 level. Darlington has a very L;nod gold showing, also some cop-per-h-ad ore which samples show be-jtv.w-n six and seven per cent copper and about the same lead with twelve oiuht-s of silver. We will ship a c:ir of this material this week. To the south of him we are mining gold- -silver ores in two different places and we have ore in the chute now. The samples have been going better than before and if the car holds up to the samples it should run better than S7. Characteristic Reports "We will push the silieious ore mining as fast as we can ana hope that we will be able to mine faster above the five than on the 200, as it appears wider and more uniform in grade, but we will concentrate on this as soon as we can possibly do so and confine our work in the sulphide zone to necessary prospecting." These paragraph.;, taken from the week's report from Tintic Lead's operations op-erations in Horn Silver, are characteristic charact-eristic of many such reports but show in this one the importance of gold development which are being j attended with due success. , The commats mad-j many year.J ago that the F . district is one of the heaviest mineralised known, by John Hayes Hammond and Dr. Lind- ; gren of the Un:tel States mineral survey, are now of extreme interest to geologists, owing to gold develop- ment which is reported to be coming in fast. .-' Every day the properties in th-- Frisco district are being subjected to inspection on the part of mining men and investors from many states. And j the interest in the direction of again realizing at Frisco one of the major mining camps of the state is increasing increas-ing rapidly. Mineral Survey. |
