Show FINE ARMISTICE DAY PROGRAM AT HIGH SCHOOL Sponsored by the Milford Post American Am-erican Legion and the Ladies Auxil iary, a splendid program was presented present-ed at the Milford High School Tuesday. Tues-day. The day started with a parade through the business section of town, which had been gaily decorated by the Legion for the occassion. The parade was lead by the High School band, playing patriotic airs. Members of the American Legion ancUVeterans of Foreign Wars, bearing their colors, followed in the parade. The parade ended at the High School, where an excellent program was presented. Mrs. McGarry beautifully beau-tifully rendered "The Flag Without a Stain. The audience joined in singing "America." Selections were rendered by the High School Band. In the Annual oratorical contest for the medal given by the Ladies Auxiliary, Auxil-iary, the following students participated: partici-pated: Helen Kenney, Milford; Christie Chris-tie Osborne, Minersville; Tressa Southam and Margie Thompson, Milford Mil-ford and Garald Hollingshead, Minersville. Min-ersville. The subjects treated were all related to Armistice Day except that of Mr. Hollingshead, who talked on "The United States Government." All of the talks were of a very high order. The judges were Mrs. Berl Dean, Harold Cline and Supt. John Carlisle'. Mjiss Margie Dean was declared the winner was presented with the medal by Mrs. McGarry, president of the Ladie3 Auxiliary. Leonard Bowen, vice-commander of the Legion was in charge of the exercises. exer-cises. In the afternoon the annual football game between Beaver and Milford was played, resulting in a victory for the local boys by a score of 12-0. This was not a league game. The last league game of the season will be played between these teams Saturday at Beaver. |
