Show BEAVER SHEEPMAN VICTIM OF STROKE AT HIS HOME SAT. John G. Jones, 75, prominent sheepman of Beaver county, died at the family home Saturday. jSilneel suffering'a stroke the last of July he had been bedfast. Mr. Jones was born November 14, 1856, in Wales, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Jones. He came with his parents par-ents to America in 1863 and settled in Lehi, moving- to Adamsville in 1866, where he lived until 1929, when they moved to Beaver. He married Mary Ann Griffiths at Adamsville, April 10, 1877. This was the first marriage ceremony performed per-formed in the St. George temple. He was a member of Adamsville ward bishopric seven years. He was extensively engaged in the sheep-raising sheep-raising business until he moved to Beaver. He is well known to southern south-ern Utah woolgrowers. Besides his widow, he is survived by six sons, Abe Jones, Kamas; David Dav-id Jones, Fielding; Richard Jones, Milford; Thomas Jones, Adamsville; James and Josiah Jones, Beaver; 35 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, four sisters and brothers; Mrs. Margaret Tattersall, Beaver; Mrs. Kate Heslington, Milford; Evan Jones and Thomas W. Jones, California. Califor-nia. Funeral services were held Tuesday Tues-day at 2 p. m. in the Beaver East ward L. D. S. chapel, with burial in Mountain View cemetery. |
