Show SOUTH MILFORD Members and families of the Social So-cial Hour club packed the club house to capacity last Wednesday evening. A huge Christmas tree twinkling with lights and tinsel delighted the children. Mrs. Reuben Jones had charge of the program and the following fol-lowing numbers were rendered in a manner most pleasing- to those assembled: as-sembled: Community singing "Jingle Bells" led by Rosabelle Jones. Cornet Duet Jess McKnight and Don Elmer. Reading Janet Rollins. Clarinet Solo Mitchell Fisher. Christmas Traditions Dr. Bybee and Kathryn Bybee. Vocal solo Emma Patterson. Reading Luella Maxwell. Trumpet solo Don Elmer. Christmas Dialogue Bill Thomas and Leland Jones. Vocal solo Mrs. Ivan McKnight. Tap Dane e Emrna Patterson, Merle Rollins and Bernella Jones. Community singing Holy Night. Most unexpectedly there appeared "The Dying Year" (represented "by W. C. Cates and "The Happy New Year" impersonated by Kathryn Bybee. By-bee. Together they distributed well filled stockings from the tree to all present. Mrs. Parley Fisher and Reuben Jones furnished music so that dancing was enjoyed until a late hour. Coffee and Idoughnuts were served at eleven o'clock. . This pleasant party closed a successful suc-cessful year for the Social Hour club under the leadership of Mrs. Ivan McKnight as president. Mrs. W. C. Cates spent New Year's day in Cedar City visiting her daughter, Mrs. C. A. Rohn. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Luken were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Moore for the New Year's week end returning to Salt Lake on Monday afternoon. They plan to return early in the spring and take up the work on their ranch. While riding his pony last Saturday, Satur-day, Billie Haskell, was badly injured injur-ed when the pony fell on ice covered by -snow. He suffered injury to the knee cap and leg tendons and is still confined to his bed. The Community club met last Saturday Sat-urday evening in regular session at the club house for its annual election of officers which resulted as follows: President, Horace Palmer, re-elected; Vice President, Carl Elmer; Sec'y.-Treasurer, Sec'y.-Treasurer, Mrs. Carl Elmer; 5 year Trustee, Mrs. C. G. Haskell. An important discussion was held on our present tax situation, following follow-ing which a social hour was spent aided 'hy delicious refreshments served serv-ed by the committee of which Mrs. J. G. Weber is chairman. The next meeting will be held on Saturday evening ev-ening February 6 at the club house. |
