Show HAWAIIAN OPERA TO BE RENDERED BY MILFORD HI SCHOOL "The Hermit of Hawaii" operetta by Arthur A. Penn, has been chosen for production by the Milford High School chorus and orchestra classes. Work has already begun. The music by Mr. Penn is of exceptional quality far above the average of high school operettas, but that it has a popular appeal is apparent from the enthusiastic reception of this work whenever it has been presented. Mr. Hand conducted three performances perfor-mances of the opera in 1929. Two popular songs by the composer of this opera are "Smiling Thru" and "Sunrise iand You." J,He has . also composed many others. The large high school chorus is in even better shape than last year and with a 'lasger orchestra, and with the opera production traditions established es-tablished last year under Mr. Hand, this year's production should be a record re-cord for the Milford high. |
