Show v v v CALIENTE SHERIFF DOES GOOD WORK Sheriff Chas. Culverwell added to his reputation for "getting his man" during the past week in Caliente when he lodged four offenders in jail within with-in a few hours after they had committed com-mitted robberies in Caliente. The first case was the robbery of a Ford sedan, owned by the Ruth, Nevada, delegation to the basketball tournament tourna-ment at Caliente, which was left parked near the Union Pacific depot, r.nd contained two coats, two rugs, four sweaters, a medicine chest and a canteen belonging to the Ruth team. In the morning the car wa found with the glass broken out ami the contents missing. Sheriff Culverwell Cul-verwell was called and in an hour had two boys, strangers and both under age, in custody. Part of the loot was found on the boys and the coats and rugs and sweaters were located cached cach-ed in a box car ready for travel when the train pulled out. Later in the day the boys were arranged before Justice of the Peace E. C. D. Marriage Mar-riage and taken to Pioche to appear before Judge Orr in the Juvenile court. Sheriff Culverwell should be warmly commended for his successful work, as Caliente would have otherwise b-en placed in a poor light by the viaitin? Ruth delegation. The second case was the arrest of Joe Murphy and Dick Pollock, who pled guilty in the Caliente Justicr court to petit larceny, taking some crackers and shoes from C. I. Wads-worth Wads-worth Bros, store. The sentence in this case was 30 days. Quick work was also done by Sheriff Culverwell in j '.his case for with most limited evidence evi-dence he fastened the guilt on th men, who were both under the influence in-fluence of liquor when arrested.
