Show MINERSVILLE AND MILFORD TO JOIN IN CELEBRATING LEGION PLANNING DOUBLE AFFAIR FOR FOURTH OF JULY Milford Post Number 16, American Legion, voted Tuesday evening to sponsor a Fourth of July celebration. The events will be divided between Milford and Minersville. On the morning of the Fourth, there will be a children's celebration in Milford, with sports arranged .for boys and girls. On the afternoons of the 4th and 5th, Minersville will hold the spotlight. Minersville was given the choice over Milford for the afternoon after-noon program mainly because of the shade provided at the former place. Sports, foot-racing, and some fast horse races will feature the program. On the evening of the Fourth, there will be fireworks from Hanging Rock, -' a fast boxing bout at that place, and '. the day will wind up with a dance, at the Hanging Rock pavilion. The town dads of Minersville have- been consulted and have given their : hearty endorsement of the Minersville Miners-ville end of the celebration. Legion Commander C. R. Parrish advised the Lions club here Wednesday of the plans for the day and urged their full support. Minersville vets will attend to the arrangements for the program over there, while Milford resident members mem-bers of the Legion Post, together with the Milford Lions Club troop of Boy Scouts, will work out a morning program pro-gram for Milford, and will supervise the running off of events. |
