Show Hinckley Happenings. "Yes, indeed," says some of our prominent citizens of Hinckley, Hinck-ley, "we would be delighted to read in the Chronicle some news from our town, for the people in the nearby settlements have no idea of the many interesting things that happen here. If we could tell them of an event once in awhile, perhaps they would think we were alive anyway." One of the future's most promising prom-ising events that has happened is the organization of the Home Economics Association. Miss White, who is representing the Extention Division of the A. C. in this county, is, we think, a very competent and efficient person per-son to organize this work. The work of the Extention Division is progressing and indeed interesting inter-esting for a large portion of the housewives and housekeepers. Under the competent leadership of Mrs. C. A. Broaddus, we have cause to believe that this work will grow and flourish in this community, and that a mutual benefit will be derived therefrom. The various committees are now fully organized and are ready for efficient, active work. Join with them, all the home-makers of Hinckley and make this organization or-ganization a success. You can only do this by your hearty support sup-port and with the one thot that "In unity there is strength." Miss Gertrude Ingells, who has just returned from the Ober-lin Ober-lin Conservatory of Music, in Ohio, is here spending part of her vacation with Mrs. C. A. Broaddus. Miss Ingells teaches in the L. D. S. University the coming winter. The Stork has visited the homes of Mrs. Reed Cary, and Mrs. Bammes, leaving at each place a baby boy. Mr. Eldredge of the A. C, is in our c jmmunity again visiting the farmers and giving valuable information. His special line of work is with the dairymen. A week ago Sunday in the parents class of the Sunday School, he talked upon the subject of beautifying beau-tifying the homes and their surroundings. sur-roundings. Let us, as citizens, show our appreciation to such men by acting upon their suggestions. sug-gestions. This is what will bring about our civic improvements. improve-ments. We certainly have some fun loving, as well as willing workers work-ers in the Hinckley Young Men's and Ladie's M. I. A., judging from the way they participated (Continued on page 8.) |
