Show Win High Honors (Continued from page 1) a tie, he awarded first place to the other chcrjs by two points, it was so close, that many were astonished at the decision and disagreed with the judge. But our singers expected nothing at all and it is considerable credit to secure second place among so many fine contestants. Such a crowd of ambitious young people is a fine advertisement advertise-ment for our part of the country. Many of them had the biggest experience of their lives attending attend-ing all the pipe-organ recitals, the big-concert in the tabernacle by the Ogden choir and Emma Lucy Gates, touring the city in a big sight seeing car, and having their pictures taken. Dr. and Mrs. Broaddus took two of the mixed quartet with them and made the trip by auto. The great expenditure of time effort and money on the part of all connected with the choruses has been worth while if the lives of the young people have been enriched and if their interest has been aroused in better things. |
