Show IRRIGATION TO BE FEATURE Actual Laboratory Practice Will Be Given During Farmeri' Week at Colorado Agricultural College. Actual laboratory practice In Irrigation Irri-gation work will be given as a feature of the farmers" week program t the agricultural college, this year, for the first time, according to the Fort Lup-ton Lup-ton I'ress. This la made possible by the completion .and equipment of the new irrigation building. This building is unique from the fact that It U the only building in the Vntted State constructed and equipped exclusively for irrigation engineering. The development of Irrigation by pumping in this state promises to be of more importance in the future than any other phase of the irrigation prpb-lem. prpb-lem. l'ump work will be taken up In the irrigation laboratory and the different dif-ferent kinds of pumps, their construction, construc-tion, cost, efficiency, and operation will be demonstrated. All this work will actually bo done by the farinere themselves, who will learn to do by doing. The construction of the different kinds of standard weirs, and their operation, op-eration, will be demonstrated In tbe same way. Kach year water becomea more valuable val-uable to Colorado, and Ita accurate measurement more Important. For this reason attention will bo given to water meters and their use. The much vexed question of the relation re-lation of tho "miner's Inch" to the second foot and the acre-foot will be made plain. The development of irrigation In mountain re gions reguires economical and efficient flumes. Flumo work will be demonstrated In tho laboratory w ith first class equipment.
