Show EXCURSION TRAIN WRECKED. Cart Caught on Fire and Passengers Believed to Have Been Burned to Death. Easton, Pa. Three persons are dead, eight are missing and are be-1 be-1 eved to be dead, and half a hundred others were injured, Saturday afternoon, after-noon, at Martin's Creek, N. J., in a wreck of an excursion train currying 170 school teachers and friends from Utlca and Syracuse, N. Y.. and vlcln lly, to Washington for a week's outing. The train was traveling fifty miles an hour and when the locomotive struck a sharp curve, where men hud been repairing the tracks, It jumped and run along the hillside, carrying four of the Ave cars with it. All of the cars took fire and burned like tinder. tin-der. Not a splinter Is left. Klght of the missing passengers are believed to have been burned to death. |
