Show Benefit Utah Indian Fighters The House bill granting pensions pen-sions to survivors of the Indian wars from LS65 to 1891, has been passed by the Senate. Survivors of the Black Hawk war which began in 1865, will participate. This bill as passed, with the amendments by Senator Smoot, and Congressman Howell, reduces re-duces the period of service to thirty days or less, if the campaign cam-paign lasted less than thirty days, and accepts state muster rolls as proof of service, instead of requiring proof from there-cords there-cords of the U. S. War or Treasury Treas-ury departments. The amount to be expended is estimated at $1,000,000, an- nually. About 2,500 persons iji the state of Utah will be benefitted. |
