Show Everything Looking Good FOR THE Big Celebration at Delta July the 5th Big Two-Mile Motor Cycle Race being arranged for. Prize for the winner will be $7.50. Prof. Moench of Ogden On the Delta Country Prof. L.F. Moench of Ogden was down to look after his interests inter-ests here at Delta. He has still a hundred and twenty acres of choice land left contiguous to Delta, and which he values very highly' He expresses himself pleased with the progress of the country, and especially with the bright prospect of havinga sugar factory located here in the near future. Great credit is due the people for subscribing enough acreage to justify the erection of such an institution. This no doubt will cause the country to advance much more rapidly and four or five years from now will witness a great change. Prof. Moench regrets to see the weeds along the ditches and around the houses' hous-es' also the back grounds. He says that if every man would clean up around his house, pull up the weeds, and plant some rye and follow this up with some alfalfa, what a different appearance appear-ance the town would make in a year or so. The greatest drawback draw-back to Delta, is Delta itself. Why not organize a club with a firm determination to have this object in view? A small award ss a premium to the man who has the cleanest and most improved lot in town could be offered, of-fered, while the man who is reckless reck-less and indifferent would fin-aly fin-aly be compelled to fall into line or be regarded a drone in life. If the people of Delta want strangers strang-ers to come here and invest in land and make themselves homes they must do something to do away with this forbidding aspect of the town. The first impression impres-sion is always the most important and the most lasting. As sidewalks side-walks have been a most excellent feature in the past year, it is hoped that this will be a feature for the coming year. Success to Delta. |
