Show HtrH'or can he m.ide 0f the mot value to our frtnuom. FARM DEMONSTRATION. The legislature appropriated t!ie munificent sum of $6,000 for farm leuionstratlpn work In Utah The amount Is so small that the work will bave to be confined to three counties. Mid Millard will be one of them. If tl;e work Is scattered all over the county very little will be accomplished lu any one place even with the aid of an organization. While something ran be done In public meetings where the farmers and the demonstrator csn talk oer their problems, the chief value of a demonstrator in this section Is to have an expert that the farmer can take out on hi farm to see whether the ditches are big enough, how deep the corrugations should be, whether the land needs dyking or bow far apart t'.ie dykes should be, what kind of head g.ites to put In, give some advice about Irrigating, advise In regard to the right kind of seed, and many others matters mat-ters on which the farmer needs to consult con-sult an expert. ' It must be remembered remem-bered that many of the farmers around Delta never aaw an Irrigated farm before, be-fore, and matters that are familiar to Utah farmers that bave moved In here are new things to a great many of our settlers. Many of them paid dear to get some experience last year. There ought to be an expert here right NOW so that they can start out right this yesr. He ought to be on the go all over this section today, advising with a bunch of farmers from day to day for the next two months, meeting with as many of them as possible every evening In some school house to talk over problems. This Is our Idea ot bow the services of a farm demon- |
