Show WOODROW ITEMS The Jolly Stitchers will hold an all day meeting at the home of Mrs. Robt. Britt, January 19th. The. Literary Society will be held January 20th. A fine program is assured. Come and see. A married folks' dance was given at Woodrow last Friday evening, which was well attended and much enjoyed despite the cold weather. Rodney Shields, the 12 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Shields, unfortunately broke his right forearm fore-arm while trying to crai-k tho automobile auto-mobile last Sunday morning. At present he is apparently faring well, however. , Woodrow has stood the cold snap with fortitude but we will confess It Is beginning to get on our nerve. Tuesday a. m. the thermometer scared scar-ed us when wa saw it standing at 23 below zero, with the sun away up in the sky. January 10th a party of Wood-row Wood-row gentlemen surprised Geo. Webster Webs-ter with a stag oyster supper and a general good time. George says he hopes they will come again but will return home in time for him to open the store. Some of our enterprising citizens wrote out a subscription pledge Monday and made a house to house canvas for subscriptions to be used in building an amusement hall. They obtained a building site and $800.00 in fash, upon which a mass meeting of ,e citizens was called tor Wednesday Wed-nesday evening and plans formulated formu-lated for the immediate errertion of a hall.
