Show Scipio Sallies Dr. Stevens was called here Xmas Kve to attend Lon Brown who was seriously injured by falling from a wagon. At this writing he is doing as well as can be expected. Bom: To Mr. and Mrs. Fred Quarnberg, Dec. 8th a son. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thompson Thomp-son and family of Eden, Ut., are guests of Mrs. Lydia Thompson. Jennie Robins, who teaches in Marysvale, is home for the holidays. holi-days. The entire teachers' staff attended at-tended the institute in Salt Lake last week. Stanley Robins, who teaches in Fillmore, is spending the holidays holi-days with his parents. Tilford Johnson, Wesley Martin, Mart-in, James Memmott, Earl Was-den Was-den and Carl Brown have all moved into new brick houses. The cattlemen of District 7, Fillmore National Forest, are organizing. The name of the Ass'n is The Pioneer Association. Associa-tion. Its members include cattlemen cat-tlemen from Aurora, Scipio and Holden. Forest .Supervisor Winkler and Ranger Herbert, of Richfield, attended a meeting here on the evening of the 16th. A delegation from Holden also attended. Mr. Winkler addressed address-ed the meeting, setting- forth the benefits to be derived ( from Cooperation Co-operation of the stock 'growers' explaining that the Forest Service Serv-ice recognized such organizations where it couldn't the individual. He also read the By-laws and constitution of the proposed association. as-sociation. The cattlemen are eager for protection from the heavy losses now sustained. There are several places on the mountians where poison weeds grow and it is desirous that they be fenced. ' Annual membership dues are 25cents. Officers elect ed were: Pres., W. R. Christmas day was a green one here. The sky was dark all day, threatening snow which fell during the night to the depth 1 of four inches. Holiday festivities are numer- ous and enjoyable. Merriest ' time of all the year. Earl Huff of Meadow, is visiting visit-ing here. Mrs. Lars P. Peterson was operated op-erated on by Dr. Stevens for gallstones on Dec. 4th at the Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake City. Mrs. Peterson is doing nicely and is expected home next week. |
