" We feel that the people of this vlclu ity are favored In having tho privilege of hearing these artists. It Is by good ' Patronage that we can get them tu come again, Oasis continues to be the show 1 grsutid for the land sellers of the i Delia tract. Nearly every day pros pective land buyers are taken through , the lands around Oasis to show the capabilities of this section for raising 1 nil alia hay and seed. Some of the I Visitors get the Idea that all they have i to do is to plant the seed this spring . and get a good crop of hay and seed this fall. They don't realize that our splendid fields of alfalfa have been ' rropped for years, and that It some-time some-time takes years to get a first-class (ftnd of alfalfa, but they will find this out by experience, but it Is hardly fair to,' give buyers the Impression that thny ran start right In and make env"wi from their hay Bnd seed to Ju' holr payments and expenses a.' Bood profit besides. Oaiiif Is waking up and Is organizing organiz-ing s commercial club to further the Interests of this sent ion. Among ot..er Improvements contemplated is k',Mut straight east of the depot to cnnect with the road running south ffom Delta. Oasis is nearer to many VV'Ihe new settlers than is Delta, and M tulfuihern neighbor proposes to fur-; fur-; I fVs fiwt and direct route to their TZ 'Wfcf"lhiiftrdf; lleni- J f ufT has donated a long strip of land through his farm and it Is expected ex-pected that other farmers along the route wil do likewise. Have good roads Into your towns and good bridges and trade will follow. The road from Oasis through Deseret Des-eret and nearly to Hinckley has been widened, graded Bnd put Into better condition than any road on the west side. New culverts and bridges have been put In and the road rounded so that the water will run off. We have the best natural roads In Millard County of any section In Ctah. The.te are no hills to dig down or gullies to nil. All It needs Is for the roadway to be rounded up so the water will run off and they will keep In good condition nil the year round. The expense ex-pense Is small, and the benefit. In time saved, lessened wear of vehicles and horses, and the abllltv to haul heavier heav-ier loads Is Incalculable. Hosea Stout Is getting In numerous shipments of trees for the west side settlements. Carolina poplars are the favorites for shade trees, but many are getting In other ornamental trees, and bushes for hedges, lawns, etc. Deseret is getting In a large share of them. Ieseret Is the only place we have yet heard of that had a real celebration celebra-tion on Arbor Day, last Monday. Principal Prin-cipal Petty took his pupils and two grades of the Hinckley school over to the old fort, cleared out the brush from part of It, raised the stars and stripes over It and had an Interesting program. Sons of the old Indian war veterans were present and partlcl-paled partlcl-paled In the exercises. An effort Is going to be made to have this historic monument of pioneer days restored and preserved for future generations. The people ought to see that this is done, for it Is well worth preserving as a monument. John Dewsnup tells us that he expects ex-pects to rebuild his seed warehouse and rU-anlng plant. The new structure struc-ture will be fire pniof, so there will be no danger of a repetition of the former accident. Nothing was saved from the former Ore, even the boiler being warped and rendered useless. The ladles of Deseret are evidently like their sisters elsewhere they love fine millinery, and judging by the assortment as-sortment we saw at Mrs. D. J. Itlaik's they will not have ot go out of town for It. We couldn't see but what her stock was just as attractive as what we saw In Salt I-ke. and when the ladles are decked out In her crest Ions they will cut as Wg a swell as their sisters in the capital. The Kelly Ryan Realty company, the new land merchants si lies ret. are doing a good business and rewrt numerous sales and many enquiries fol land. No belter land can be found anywhere In Millard County than at Iieseret, and whfn land sellers want to show what a splendid soil we have lor vegetables they bring buyers down here.
