Show HUGE GUNS BLAST WAY. Greatest Concentration of Artillery in Any War Now Seen at Verdun. London. The crown prince's armies sngaged in the terrific battle at Ver-Jun Ver-Jun have had their way blasted for Ihem, according to correspondents near the scene, by what is said to be the greatest concentration of artillery fire known to history, in which the monster guns of the German and Aus-trians, Aus-trians, brought from the Serbian and Russian front, have played an important impor-tant part. With this mighty aid, the infantry have pushed down the valley of the Meuse, gained the hills southwest of Louvemont, not more than four miles from the fortress, and carried fortified positions to the east, Berlin declares, the Brandenburg regiments particularly particular-ly distinguishing themselves in storming storm-ing Fort Douaumont. |
