Show of Mrs, Rawlinson's mother, who passed away suddenly, Saturday, April, 24th. - The Oak City Mutual furnished furnish-ed the program at Leamington Sunday night, and Leamington furnished the program at Oak City which was a good one. We invite Leamington to come again. Monday night a party was given giv-en by the young people, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. A. Hanson who spent a visit with the bride's parents. par-ents. All kinds of games were played; also a big lunch was served, and a number of presents were given to them, from a pair of baby shoes to a chicken'. All present expressed themselves as having the best time of their lives. Another sad event took place in Oak City, which was the death of Mrs. Martha. Lovell, last Friday Fri-day morning, April, 23rd. Funeral Fun-eral services were held Monday afternoon. Many relatives and friends were present from oth er places to pay their last respects to the departed. Mrs. Lovell has reared a good family and they are all growing up to man and womanhood so she don't leave any little ones. We feel to sympathize with those that are caused to mourn the loss of a mother. Oak City Offerings. (Jos. H. Christenson, Rep.) LeRoy Webb made a business trip to Hinckley Saturday. J. Peterson made a business trip to Leamington Saturday. Mr. Ernest Nelson, of Leamington, Leam-ington, was over after seed corn last week. Edward Ottley and son, of Delta, spent a visit with his friend John E. Lovell. J. D. Smith, the candy drummer drum-mer was in town again last week on his regular rounds. Dr. Booth and wife from Nephi are spending a few days with friends here this week. Some of Oak City's young people peo-ple took in the big school dance at Leamington Friday night. W. Shareff has again taken charge of the U. S. mail between Oak City and Leamington for the summer. Wm. Lovell has been on the sick list the past week but is reported re-ported on the improve at this writing. Alvin Lyman made a flying trip to Mayfield, being called home on account of one of his children being sick. John Alldridge spent a days visit with parents and friends here last week. He is located at Leamington for the summer. ' Prof. Welch, our farm demon strator, was in town last week giving some instructions on how to cure the potatoes of their diseases. di-seases. Mr. Evans, of Nephi, representing represent-ing the Consolidated Wagon. & Machine Company was here last week doing buisness among the farmers. A nice big rain storm made its appearance Thursday which was welcomed by., the farmers especially espec-ially the dry farmers as that is the only irrigating these crops get. Miss Jane Rawlinson, who has been teaching school at Sutherland Suther-land the past winter, has returned home. We are always glad to see our young folks back with us again. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rawlinson Rawlin-son left Sunday morning for Joseph Jos-eph City, to attend the funeral |
