Show Railroad Work Begins Hinkley People Busy, Will Work for Road to Hinckley. Deseret Interested The Hinckley people are already al-ready busy on their contract on the railroad extension into the Abraham country, they having a two mile grading contract near where- the road turns to go north at the center of section five. They put some teams onto the work the first of the week and Wednesday Wednes-day they sent forward several others and expect to put on still more. At a meeting last Sunday an informal talk was had as to the extension of the line from a point two miles north of Hinckley Hinck-ley where E. D. Hashimoto contemplates con-templates taking it, into Hinckley. Hinck-ley. There was considerable enthusiasm en-thusiasm displayed 'relative to the road being run into Hinckley and the idea met with general approval and support. As soon as the spring rush cf work is over and the people of our neighboring neigh-boring tcwn get their present contract off their hands they expect ex-pect to take the matter up and they will undoubtedly have a railroad into their city by fall. A depot site has already.been given. Futhermore the possibilites of the nearness of the road to Deseret has enthused her people and they are showing much interest in-terest in the possibility of having it extended to their city. A number of the ranchers a-long a-long the line have expressed a desire to give a right- of- way across their land and to help do the grading and it is not at all beyond the possibilities of- things that Deseret will also hear the toot of the locomotive within its limits," and now and then glance up at the clock to see if it isn't about time the 5:60 train was pul-' ling in. |
