Show ! War Bond Drive Still Far From Quota Set Here Millard County Stands At 12J of Quota The Sixth War Loan drive is still going exceptionally slow in Millard County, with the State figures showing that one-half of the time of the drive is gone and Millard County has subscribed but 12 of its quota. Chairman Orran Ashby states that he is very discouraged at the showing we are making and hopes that some miracle will happen to loosen up the money situation here so that bonds will be bought in sufficient quantities to reach or surpass the quota. Utah is striving to put the drive over by December 7 and on that day Millard County if verv fortunate fortu-nate is having a caravan here for the full day. The caravan will go to Hinckley on the morning of December 7 and show movies oi combat conditions in the different war theaters to the people there. In the afternoon the same caravan will be at the Delta High School showing the same films, and urging urg-ing people to buy bonds. The caravan will consist of 1 scout car which will take bond buyers for a ride; one 37 mm anti- jtank gun which weighs 17 tons, a combat veteran who will give a talk urging bond buying; one exhibition ex-hibition truck with a display of arctic and southwest Pacific uniforms- and clothing. There will be an officer in charge of the caravan. cara-van. The Crest Theatre is putting on a show that night of films taken in action on the various fronts and people who have bought bonds during the Sixth War Loan Drive are entitled to see the show that night. At first it was decided to allow only those who had bought bonds at the theater to see the show, but this recent decision will allow all of those who have purchased pur-chased during this drive to see the show. Mr. Ashby says, "We are on the home stretch and we haven't even go to first base yet here, so we must dig down deeper and put this drive over the top as we have done the others in the past." |
