Show Rookette Club Entertained Arva Ogden entertained the members of the Rookette club at her home on Thursday evening. Those present were Lorna Bunker, Dana Bishop, Vesta Cahoon, Beu-lah Beu-lah Bassett, Ruby' Bishop, Barbara Spendlove, Rae Huff, Grayce Pace, Neva Robinson and La Priel Mort-enson. Mort-enson. Guests were Louise Allen, and Frances Whicker. Dinner was served and rook played at which Neva Robinson held high score, Lorna Bunker, second, and Vesta Cahoon, low. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Van Winkle are visiting in Delta with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Van Winkle. Roland was in the Merchant Marines Ma-rines for 3 1-2 years, and in that time practically circumnavigated the globe. He is now released and in civilian life. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heise left during the week for California, where they will make a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gardner, and Capt. and Mrs. Raymond Davis, Da-vis, left Saturday to drive to California. Cal-ifornia. They will meet Pfc. Ray Gardner in Los Angeles, and as he has a 30-day furlough at this time before re-assignment, they will drive to Phoenix, Arizona, and visit Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Schlappi, before be-fore returning to Delta. Mrs. Gardner's Gard-ner's father, H. J. Schlappi, of Springville is also making the trip with them. , LeRoy B. Smith left Delta Tuesday Tues-day to drive to California, where he will meet his brother, Carl Smith. Carl served in the navy, as lieutenant, and is now released. They will make a trip together in southern California, and Roy is returning re-turning to Delta by way of Phoenix. Phoen-ix. s |
