Show Delta Studied I As Site For Rubber Plant A representative of a manufacturer manufac-turer of rubber and asbestos articles ar-ticles was in Delta last Week looking look-ing for a site to place their manufacturing manu-facturing plant. They wanted to be located within 150 miles of Salt I Lake City, on a main line railroad, the site to be about 25 acres, and good free-from-mineral water The representative conferred with the County Commissioners and was shown the old sugar factory fac-tory warhouse, club room and office of-fice building and the land around it. He was later quoted a price on the whole thing. He was also told that there possibly would be housing hous-ing available from the abandoned buildings at Topaz. The proposed plant would manufacture man-ufacture articles such as rubber hose, and light articles from rubber, rub-ber, and also asbestos articles. A-bout A-bout 300 people would be needed to staff the plant. The other sites the representative representa-tive left to look over were in Lynn-dyl, Lynn-dyl, Nephi, Brigham City, Evans-ton, Evans-ton, Wyo., and a site in southern Idaho. When he left he said the answer to -the site chosen would be announced in about 4 weeks. |
