Phone your news Tuesday to Sebrina Ekins A large crowd attended the wedding wed-ding reception given by Mr. and Mrs. Loren Talbot Friday evening in the High School gym honoring Mr. and Mrs. Eugene II. Bishop, who were married in the Manti Temple on June 1. The evening was spent dancing and at midnight refreshments were served. The young couple received many useful and lovely gifts. Mrs. Jane Pratt has received word that her daughter, Grace, of Salt Lake Ciety was recently made president of the "Lindon Lion-ette" Lion-ette" Club in Salt Lake City. Grace as president, helped sponsor the annual banquet of the club and gave a toast entitled, "Stairway to the Stars." The Lindon Lionettes Club was started a year ago by Ruth May Fox of the General Board of the MIA for all the out-of-town girls liviing in Salt Lake City. Grace has been a member since she went to Salt Lake to work. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Holt came back from Salt Lake City Saturday Satur-day evening. Mrs. Delcenie Robbins, who has spent the winter here with her son, Melvin, and family has gone to Scipio for the summer Mr. and Mrs. Ted Dennison made a trip to Sterling this week. Grace Hepworth who has been teaching school at Grantsville during dur-ing the past year, has accepted a call to fulfill a mission in the Northern States. A farewell testimonial testi-monial for Miss Hepworth will be given June 11, at 8:30 p.m. She will enter the Mission Home in Salt Lake City the following morning morn-ing preparatory to leaving for her field or labor. Donations will be accepted at the door and all should contribute generously toward tow-ard this worthy cause. Grace is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Hepworth. At the present time the Deseret Stake has no missionaries in the field. Sunday, June 11 at 11:30, fast and testimony will be held in the ward. The fast day meeting was shifted to a week later because of the Stake Conference. Mrs. Laverna Moody went to Provo Sunday for the graduation exercises at the BYU, where her daughter Merlene was to receive her diploma. They returned home Wednesday. Miss Marylene Reeve returned to Logan Sunday after spending a week here. Miss L a Rue Allen and her mother of Los Angeles are visiting here this week at the Heber Bishop home. Mrs. Allen left Wednesday to go to Beaver to visit with friends fri-ends and relatives before returning return-ing to California. The Literary Club and their husbands hus-bands and invited guests enjoyed a roller skating party at the Stake hall Monday evening . After the skating refreshments were enjoyed. enjoy-ed. Mr. and Mrs. John Hutchinson, and Mr. and Mrs. William Stapley, went to Salt Lake City; Wednesday with Mrs. Fannie Terry and Mrs. Rose Carlos. Chester Barnes came in from Nevada Tuesday night. He will be transferred to Dell, Utah, and Mrs. Barnes will go with him to spend a month. , Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Theobald, of Fillmore, came over for the funeral fun-eral Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Theobald came down from Provo also for the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Hunter of Holden, Mr. and Mrs. William All-dredge, All-dredge, Oak City, Parley Elder of Oak City were in Hinckley to attend at-tend the funeral. |
