Show LYNNDYL ... Rachel Simpson M-S Royal Terry have as their guest Mrs. Donna Marie Terry and their grandson of Salt Lake. Jim Smith received word from his son Jimmie that he has been assigned to the U S S Clearfield. He is an electrician and has been stationed at San Pedro, Cal. C E. Simpson had as his guest Ray Simpson of Milford. Mrs. Wallace Allen received word that her sister, Mrs. Rachel Henderson Hen-derson of Los Angeles was seriously serious-ly ill and in the Glendale hospital. Mrs. Allen left Tuesday to be with her. They also received word that her nephew, Jack Walch, son of Mrs. Barbara Walch of Cheyenne had been seriously injured in Germany. Ger-many. Jack went to school in Lyn-ndyl Lyn-ndyl and lived with M-S George Godfrey a few years ago. Mrs. Roralie Banks went to Salt Lake Tuesday where she will undergo an operation for appendicitis. appendi-citis. Emery Smith returned to Salt Lake Monday.but Mrs. Mary Smith remained to be with her husband who has been quite ill. Mrs. Tressie Terry entertained at dinner in honor of Mrs. Ed Hart, the occasion being her birthday. 4 very delicious dinner was served and cream pie. The guests were M-S Ed Hart, and daughter "Sugar," "Su-gar," Varley Dutson, Marilyn and Joyce Terry and Roy Terry and M-S M-S Jim Smith. M-S Laura Overson and Mel Ma-jers Ma-jers were Nephi visitors Saturday. Wednesday M-S Mart Sheriff and son Cleon took Mrs. Anna Roper o Provo, where she will visit her daughter, dau-ghter, Mrs. Harry Wilkie. Cleon will go on Salt Lake where he will enlist in the Navy. Miss Nadien Sheriff arrived home Friday after having visited at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Ed Smith of Beaver. Less Walker of Pocatello, Idaho, is here visiting for a few days with I M-S Earl Greathouse. Mrs. Ruth Bowers arrived home I Thursday after having spent a few ! days with her mother, Mrs. Jackson, Jack-son, as her brother had been reported re-ported seriously wounded. Mrs. Leona (Lake) Daus received receiv-ed word her husband had been killed in action. She spent a few days visiting in Spanish Fork with her mother in law. Guy Sheriff and daughter Shirley Shir-ley spent a few days in Salt Lake. Joe McGrath of Richmond, Cal., spent a few days visiting M-S Roy Clark and Thelma Clark. They returned re-turned with his small son Calvin. Mrs. Adelia Coleman and daughter daugh-ter Eldonna spent Saturday in Salt Lake visiting her father. M-S Curt Johnson entertained the Pinochle Club at their home on Monday night. Cards were played. Thelma Clark won high prize for the ladies, and Clyde Coleman the high for men. A very delicious luncheon was served to the following follow-ing guests: M-S Bob Pendray, M-S M-S Roy Clark, M-S Eddie Sorenson, M-S Clyde Coleman. Thursday evening Lottie Gron-ning Gron-ning and Maxinne Coleman entertained enter-tained at the Gronning home for a backward party. The guests entered en-tered at the barn door, wearing their clothes backward. Thelma Clark won first prize for being the best dressed. A picture game was played and Miss Mery Johnson got high score, but received low score. Edna Haycock and Phyllis Nelson won low, so were given the high. Thelma Clark won high score in pinochle and Iva Sorenson low, so the scores were reversed. A hot supper was served and the following follow-ing enjoyed the party: Mery Johnson, John-son, Edna Haycock, Betty Nielson, Billie Nielson, Iva Sorenson, Orlean Larsen, Neva Harvey, Phyllis Nelson, Nel-son, Thelma Clark, Rosalee Banks, and Joyce Armstrong. Mrs. Bertha Sherwood returned to her home in Salt Lake Saturday. Raymond Clark entertained in honor hon-or of his birthday on Friday night. Games were played and luncheon served to the following boys and girls: Mary Beth Roper, Mignon Sheriff, Verla Ivie, Velda Sheriff, Crystal Nielson, Johnnie Whatcott, Harold Ivie, Robert Wiley, Mari-'yn Mari-'yn Hayes, Vada Ivie, Forrest Terry, Ter-ry, Connie Johnson, LeRae Great-house, Great-house, Dee Nielson, Ned Lake and Robert Vest. Mrs. Chester Bowers and son went to Nephi for medical attention. M-S Floyd Roundy spent Monday in Salt Lake shopping. Mrs. Jerome had as her guest her brother and family from Kan-osh. Kan-osh. Mrs. R. J. Law visited Tuesday at the homes of Mrs. C. E. Simpson and Mary Smith. |
