Show Booklets for Stock Show Mailed Monday The premium booklets for the coming Millard County Junior Livestock Live-stock Show were mailed Monday ; by officers of the organization to prospective buyers and exhibitors who were outside of Millard County. Coun-ty. This is a new departure in the management of the show, as generally gen-erally the books are held up until close to the time of the show. This year it was felt that because of the addeJl interest in Millard County livestock it would pay to have the books in the hands of the people well in advance of the show. Two hundred of the books have either been mailed or given by the show committee to those interested interest-ed in livestocsk. Edgar Nielson, president of the show, was responsible respon-sible for mailing a parge portion of them, and when the officers went to Fillmore Wednesday, they took a large supply with them for the east side. The balance of the books will be in the hands of the show committee this week so that all of the 1,000 copies will be distributed well in advance of the show. Bill Pace was chairman of the advertising this year anda reports that advertising space sold so rapidly rap-idly that the book was full before advertisers outside of Delta could be reached. It was decided not to enlarge the booklet, although more ads could have been placed with respective buyers. The booklet contains a digest of the new "point system" as will be used in the stock show this yfvar. In the past the total money for each division has been appropriated appropriat-ed and in cases where the exhibitors exhibi-tors were not many the money was not used up. In other cases where there were many exhibitors the money had to be pro-rated or borrowed bor-rowed from another division. This year the exhibitors will receive points for their placing of livestock I and at the close of the show the number of points given will be divided di-vided into the $1300 (it may be more) and then each exhibitor entitled en-titled to premium money will get a pro-rata share of all the money set aside for premiums. This seems to us the most fair method o seeing that each exhibitor exhibi-tor receives all possible from his entry. |
